The New Year is almost here. I don't know why it is such a maudlin time of year for me (and sadly for people on my FL too). I guess it's because its the most significant marker of time in the calendar year. I will remember 2009 as a year of fear and uncertainty; of waiting for the rug to be pulled out from under me at any time because I did not have the strength or confidence to do anything about it if it had happened.
I will also remember that the very best things from 2009 all came from the fact that I am a Buck-Tick fan! It's absolutely true. My celebrations were all spent in the company of fellow BiTches and friends of BiTches. My adventure to New York? If I had not been a Buck-Tick fan I would have not known all of my wonderful traveling companions, had an interest in even seeing a band called Vamps, have chosen that gothy hotel, or had even known the existence of the warm and wonderful ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) jenbowie and ff120, whom I got the chance to meet. I would not have spent a whirlwind week with speedygz or enjoyed a delightful and enlightening overdue union with _maldorora and sakurakurakura ; ) I would always enjoy the same bond with my best friend brainwhisper, however being B-T fans just increased the joy. And then there's lj. I love that I have this little oasis where I can meet, commiserate, celebrate, and share with people from all parts of the world and know that we are a lot alike. That's such a great comfort and I never cease to marvel at how warm, smart, courageous and wonderful everyone is.
On this day in Buck-Tick history in 1989, Buck-Tick played before 50,000 fans in a sold-out performance at Tokyo Dome. In the great, big B-T book of days, there are few as outstanding as this one. After a long absence they wondered if anyone still remembered them and would even show up for this performance. The fans beat all their expectations and showed up in droves, selling out Japan's largest venue. Buck-Tick would reward their devotion with a new single and album, "Aku no Hana," in the new year. How big is the dome? Well I grew up in a town of 30,000 and even if we all got seats there'd still be 40% empty! Look at this:
In a municipality the size of Tokyo, the Dome still dwarfs everything around it! What an amazing, and humbling experience that night must have been.

So for Xmas we ended up just going to my family's get-together. It was awesome as usual :)
Ryan got tickets to see Anthony Bourdain from my parents and Frisky Dingo Season 1 from my sister and her family. We both got a new DVD shelf for the living room (it's pretty huge) and I got Dr Horrible from sis and fam. I got a new leathery pop-open waller with a skull wearing a bow, a $20 Caribou card, and a Lucid Absinthe fountain from my mom, A Zune from Ryan and a tattoo from my dad :)
 
I like that we got less things but they were all perfect and things that made everyone feel great. We also celebrated my mom's birthday (it's the 11th, so we usually just wait so we can all be together). If you haven't had the Coldstone cupcakes yet, go get them right now. They are as amazing as they sound. For sure!
We taught my niece and nephew how to play Magic. My niece kicked my ass first try. My deck sucks. We're going to take them to the Source this week to spend time with them and help them pick out some new cards with their Xmas moneys. Such awesome kids.
After the horrible storm died down we headed out and I actually managed to surprise Ryan with his gift. It was AWESOME! Also, totally what our relationship needed XD It was nice to get away and not have any obligations, even if it was just overnight. I'm pretty happy about that.
Yesterday I got my tattoo with my dad and brother. I'm super happy with it :) I was hesitant because of some drama involving the tattooist and some people I know, but I figure if I keep it business and let him know I want nothing to do with the drama it'll be fine. And it was. I love my friend and that's all that matters. It only came up because her tattoo artist came in, but it was immediately dropped. Thank goodness.
Anyway, I'm so in love with it. Sooooo in love. I just want summer to be over so I don't have to wear a coat and can show it off!
After that I dropped my dad back off at his house, grabbed my brother and went to pick Ryan up from work. We went to see Sherlock Holmes which I thought was win. I love RDJ and Jude Law, so it was fine just fine. Also, Rachel McAdams had some amazing dresses and jackets and the menswear was WIIIIINNNNNNN! I need to start sketching.
Tonight we're hanging out with Mitch and Angie. Tomorrow I'm getting a hair cut. Wednesday is Josie coffee time. Thursday is kidnapping the kids day and hopefully hanging out with Kel and KT80. Then that night is nerdy nerd non-party New Years time.
I need to work all day on an order and boxing stuff to send out. Also I'm starting a web-promo today. Tell your friends.

Christmas was great! I'd write more, but I have to go to the store so I can make us a nice breakfast. Today I'm getting my Alice tattoo and seeing Sherlock Holmes with my brother. Yay!

As the year nears its end, some of us are feeling a bit beleaguered by crowds, cold, snow, getting projects finished, and traveling to reach loved ones. It's nearly over, our work is almost done *whew* But whatever you're celebrating this time of year - Christmas, Constitution Day, the Coronation of Charlemagne or the sun's slow return - these cuties are sure to give you a smile.
Do they know its Christmas? No. ( But acts of kindness and appreciation are the greatest gifts of all )

Well Christmas is soon here and I'm so excited XD!!! I wasn't feeling it the past few weeks but now since it's coming closer I'm getting the Christmas spirit. So far I'm happy that two of my shippments that went out to girls in my community on LJ arrived, Yay. Now it's just a few more to arrive and I'm praying it reaches them in time. But hey, it's the chirstmas season and some Postal people tend to move slllloowwww >-<. Oh well, I'm praying as always ^_^. Soooo I having my first christmas dinner with my husband,eeeeeeessss!!!! (Execitment) I'm seasoning the bird tongiht and will bake it tomorrow. I know for sure I don't want to be cooking on christmas day XD!!!! To much fun to be had on Christmas day to my stuck at the stove ^_^!!!
So my order from Mai is on it's way!!! Can't wait, it should be here before Christmas (crosses fingers XD) Well I'll be just as happy when it reaches my hands ^_^. I'm just about finished christmas shopping, what about you guys?
I guess I'll one of those people who does there shopping at the ever last minute XD. Oh wellsss hope you all have a wonderful christmas. I know I will, I going to be off from work from the 25th to 28th Yay me. But I did love it more when it was 2 full weeks off!!!! ^_^

Are you like me? Did you do too much stuff this year and you just want to have a chill new year? Well, Ryan and I are just inviting people over who don't feel like getting dressed up and feeding into the party culture. We did it two years ago and I had way more fun that last year. Video games and booze. That's it. Feel free to come be nerds with us and chill. BYOB. We don't have a Wii or PS3 so if you have one, bring it. We have old school Nintendo (without a cord, so if you have one, bring it), PS2, Game cube and Magic cards.

Do you have any slightly used young adult and young reader books you know children in the UMD library would like? My brother is currently working in the children's section and they apparently have bullshit for books. Also, the good ones keep getting stolen. Let me know! I will have a box at my house and you can drop them off any time this week.
